Tired of being FAT and UNHEATlHY

Ever eat a meal and have so much pain after a few minutes to 10 minutes after consuming your meal that you have troubles finishing eating, pain, bloating, etc.....

This over years of time can be stressful as ever. So stressful that it can leave a lifetime of problems and /or more medical issues on the rise!

That was what lead me to my health journey. I was insearch of getting surgery to fix a stomach problem that was ongoing. Insurance has so many stipulations. You have to jump through hoops and endure so many trials and tribulations to get what you need.

I kept on searching and found a specialist that agreed with me and started my path to greatness. I still had to jump through minimal hoops , all to be let down and told if i were to gain 1 lb or lose 1 lb I wouldn't be covered. Ugh, Are you kidding me????! So on to a 2nd opinion. I received some news that would lead me to a new path, but I was still shot down. I waited to do extensive research on what I was told was my new future.

I followed the trend and started looking on TikTok, yes i said it..... TikTok. I put in the search bar; (Hiatal Hernia repair with weightloss) . A few videos popped up that were in the states and a few from Mexico. There has always been a stigma about Mexico. I never even fathomed that option. I knew my surgery would not be covered in the states with my insurance and out of pocket was looking like $25,000 plus depending on doctor and facility fees. Mexico was looking like a few affordable options ahead.

As I keep scrolling , I see several posts about #EOCmexico #EOCBariatrics and etc....

So I went on there website www.eliasortiz.co and research there site up and down. I noticed they had a Facebook group you can be added to. so I added them on Facebook first to get a feel for the group and to see everyone's experiences and fears etc.... I was on the page for 3-4 months before I made the decision to give it a go.

When I was given my health info that my hiaital hernia was worse than the previous doctor told me it was , I was shocked. I knew i had the daily pain , but I did not know that I had to get a larger area fixed that would lead to weightloss surgery as well. So when I researched EOC Bariatrics I knew that they did both of the surgeries in one. this option is very affordable for me. Still might seem like a lot to most , but I knew I could afford it and they do payment plans up to 2 years if needed.

So here was my time to submit my health questionnaire to see if I would be approved, since you do have to meet BMI requirements through them as well.

I only had to wait 3 days for an approval. I received the Welcome message and that I was approved. I was ecstatic. I waited 15 days to pay my deposit of $300 down and the rest of the payments needed to be paid 10 days before my surgery date. I was able to pick my own surgery date. I submitted up to 3 dates and my first date was approved .

Surgery is set for 6/16/22 in Mexico and I have never traveled by plane. So here is the start to a really new journey for me. Cheers to my health!
